Founded in 2004 by designer Morgan Vondrak, Argia Designs has provided landscape design solutions for our clients for over ten years.

Our goal to make the process simple and to create beautiful outdoor living environments that challenge conventional notions of garden design, reduce our impact on the environment and reflect the unique personality of our clients.

We consult with homeowners and contractors to design beautiful, sustainable outdoor living areas in styles ranging from modern to traditional with special focus on:

livable outdoor spaces   .   drought adapted gardens and water management   .   native habitat gardens   .   rainwater catchment and retention   .   runoff reduction and permeable hardscapes   .   soil ecology – healthy gardens without fertilizer.

Morgan Vondrak, Founder and Designer

A native Californian, Morgan started Argia Designs as a culmination of a lifetime of interest in art and the environment. She began designing landscapes in San Diego in 2004 while working at a native plant nursery and grew her business from there. Partnering with contractors and architects on projects throughout California. Since moving to the Bay Area in 2015 and with a growing family  Morgan has simplified Argia Designs' business model to a more consultative approach, limiting time spent drafting plans in front of a computer and allowing more time to consult with homeowners and contractors and to sketch plans in the field.

Morgan obtained her sustainability certification through the G3 Group in 2012 and her work has been featured in UT San Diego’s Home and Garden Magazine and has won "Best of Houzz" in both Design and Service in 2015/2016.  She has been a featured speaker on sustainable design at the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show, the Landscape Industry Show, the Del Mar Fair Garden Show, and numerous HOAs and garden groups.  She has also worked with non-profit groups including the Surfrider Foundation, the US Green Building Council and the California Native Plant Society to spread awareness about the importance of water conservation, runoff reduction and other sustainable design practices.
