Argia Designs provides residential and commercial landscape design and consultation services as well as referral for water saving irrigation design and landscape installation services. Working one-on-one with the homeowner, property manager, or contractor, we provide:
Detail oriented and tailored especially to your needs. CAD-drafted concept plans provide you with a vision of your future landscape and include the tools and information you need to make that vision a reality. Professionally drafted HOA plans are clear, easy to read, and ready for submittal.
(Plans may include hardscape concept layouts, planting plans, patio and potted garden design, lighting, etc. Grading plans are not included. Irrigation plans not included unless specified by client.)
Professionally drafted and hand colored landscape renderings are a great way to present a new landscape plan for approval or for a commercial or public building to display new landscape changes to the public.
On-site consultations are available for:
-pre-design site evaluation
-on-site design and planting advice
-'Green your Garden' advice (ie: ways to reduce runoff, reduce water use, reduce fertilizer and pesticide use, etc.)
-plant sets
-identification of existing native habitat and maintenance/restoration advice
-general garden evaluation and maintenance advice
Consultations do not include landscape plans.
We do not provide free consultations.
For existing and new landscapes we can refer you to one of our colleagues who specializes in low-flow and water saving irrigation systems and water cachement systems. Site evaluation and assessment, irrigation design, and consultation are some of the services offered by our irrigation consultant, who will give you information regarding low-flow irrigation systems, weather based controllers, and other water saving features that can reduce your water usage by 20% or more. Water cachement systems range from rain barrels to underground cisterns and not only save rainwater for future use in the garden but help reduce runoff pollution!
For sites that do not require a planting plan, preparation of a plant list for the site and placement of plant material is another service offered by Argia Designs. (Argia Designs does not sell, deliver, or install plant material, if installation services are required we will refer a contractor who specializes in the plant material used.)
*Due to the high variation in complexity of individual designs we regret that we are unable to give exact estimates without visiting the site and discussing the scope of the project.
Design Process:
Step One: Consultation
The first step in creating your new landscape is the initial consultation. During our first meeting we will analyze the site and make decisions about the style and elements of your new landscape. It is best to prepare for this first visit by saving pictures and other materials that you feel reflect your style, as well as making a list of what you would like your design to include and how you plan on using your outdoor spaces.
Step Two: Concept Plan
After we have analyzed the site and reviewed design elements and styles, the next step is to develop a Concept Plan. This is the basic working design which we will then review to see what, if any, changes should be made prior to finalizing the plan.
Step Three: Master Plan
Once we have made the final changes, you will be presented with a Master Plan. This is the final design which will be presented to the contractor for bidding on your project and will be used by the contractor as the basic guide for installation of your design. Your master plan may include concept sketches, sample pictures, or other notes as needed.
Step Four: Referral Services
Once a Master Plan is ready for presentation we can provide you with referral assistance to a contractor suited to your project. If needed we can also provide assistance during the installation phase to make minor modifications to the plan or give general advice*
Habitat and Restoration Consultation Services:
If you want to create a new habitat in your yard or woudl like to restore habitat on your property then give us a call. We will help you to identify local vs. invasive species, put together a plan to reduce weeds, manage fuel load to reduce wildfire risk, and provide the tools necessary to restore or create new habitat!
(please note: wildland interface areas in the County of San Diego often require a permit for brush management, even on private property, especially during certain breeding seasons. It is best to check with your local city government prior to any major projects involving wilderness areas and to use a contractor experienced in restoration and wildland management.)
